What is Meat Stick?
Meat Stick is a RAUNCY PUNK ROCK KICK YOURSELF IN THE FACE secrect (now revealed) band in which was created on December 31st 2006 (New Years Eve). The concept of this prodject was to get as RAUNCY AND RUDE AND CRUDE AND WILD as we possibly could get. Ragging on the Government, creating MIND GAMES in your own heads, speeding up on caffine... and well... YOU MUST LISTEN TO THE TUNES TO FIND OUT MORE!!!
The Creators:
Jason: Bass Player of Katet and many other cool bands he has played in the past . These tunes were put together by Jason on his bass, his Fender guitar and drum machine. His creative thoughts put together this incrediable sound that has become MEAT STICK! Along with his talent in production, Jason has also put in his thoughts in some of our Lyrics. He has MANY influences one such as Black Flag.
Jason Says:.The concept was basically trying to sound like some of the early punk I was getting into as a kid. I remember the first time I heard damaged by black flag and wonder how the fuck they got such a raunchy sound than later finding out all those recording were like done in a fucking 2x2 closet ..These recordings were done basiclly the same way.In a small area confined and almost unable to breathe..also of course some were recorded during a really hot summer so I can rememebr kind of sweating and drinking coffee and spilling it all over my guitar
being really jacked up in like some kind of frenzy..It was really fun..I give kelly props for making all the madness work with all the great lyrics she has come up with!!!The finished stuff is exactlly what I was looking for it to sound like..Yea!!
Kelly: Guitarist/Vocalist . I am formally guitarist of Millers Cell , hardcored band in the early to mid 90s. All songs we wrote are finished with my vocals on top. My punk influence stems from Misfits , Samhain Danzig. (see a trend there?) I feel I have a bit of Rage against the Machine influnce in there also . I have incorporated that into my own sound to create the VOICE of Meat Stick. My lyrics stem from alot of diffent wierd fucked up thoughts that go through my head daily. LOL.
Kelly Says " I have been waiting for something crazy and out of control to work on for a long time. Hooking up with Jason on this prodject did just that. I was hungry and so I cooked up some MEAT and ate it! Thanks to Jason, I got to fill up my belly with what I been waiting to do for a fews years now. Brings me back to the OLD SCHOOL days. "
